Abstract

ABSTRACT Vocabulary is a basic for student to speak or to communicated and vocabulary also a list of word who there are lexis, and lexicon are synonymous.In Vocational High School, almost all students like Western Movie but are students sometimes watching western movie beside that, too much students feel difficult to remembering new vocabulary and confused to understand vocabulary.The approach of this research in this research is quantitative and the research method was correlation design. the writer used vocabulary test and questionaire to collect data.The sample of this study is the of tenth grade student SMK PGRI 4 Kediri 2016/2017 consisting 25 students.To collected data ,the writer used two instrument they are vocabulary test and questionaire.the writer used vocabulary test and the material about profession.The result of this research, there is no correlation of frequency watching western movie and vocabulary mastery at tenth grade students SMK 4 PGRI Kediri, because the score of vocabulary mastery is higher than score of frequency watching western movie. The total score of vocabulary mastery is 2096 and the score of frequency watching western movie is 29,48. Besides, in analyze rxy score is lower than rxytable. The score rxy was 0.303 and rxy table is 0.396 at the level of significant of 5% (0.05) and 0.505 at the level of significant 1%. It means rxy score (0.303)
