THE INFLUENCE OF TEACHING WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT USING MIND MAPPING ON THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY AT SMPN 6 KEDIRI 2015/2016

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research used descriptive quantitative as a method to analyze the data and experiment was used as a technique to get the result of the research. The variables used in this research were writing as dependent variable and mind mapping as independent variable. The experiment was implemented through written test and it was done to the students before and after being taught writing using mind mapping. The subject of the research was eighth grade students of SMPN 6 Kediri. Afterwards the writer counted the result of the data mind mapping that is t-test. This research showed that t-score = 12,230 > t-table 1% = 2,750 and 5% = 2,042. It was very significant, the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that there is a significant influence of teaching writing descriptive text using mind mapping on the eighth grade students’ writing ability at SMPN 6 Kediri academic year 2015/2016.
